Steve Litzkow Accident

Sherilyn Litzkow provided the following information regarding the accident and will keep us posted on Steve's progress.

Steve was leaving for home after the Taylors Falls
Lighting Festival Parade which he participated in. The vehicle hit him from behind at 50 mph. and left the scene.

Star took flight and headed home making her usual left turn on to Industrial Blvd. unfortunately into on coming traffic and was killed and the buggy destroyed.

My daughter Janelle and her husband Ardell and I were also headed home after viewing the Christmas lights in Taylors Falls Angel Hill area. Traffic was slow, the next thing we were seeing Steve's carharts and I knew it was him laying there in a pool of blood. When we got to him an emt had already stopped. Steve was conscience and talking.

He was transported to St .Croix Regional Hospital. It is a miracle of God that he was not killed also. He has 3 hairline fractures in 3 vertebrae, 1 broken rib, concussion, and a 10 staples in the back of his head. He spent 2 nights and days in the hospital and was
able to come home Sunday night Nov. 28th.

He is able to walk some but is in a lot of pain. Looks like recovery will be awhile.

He says he is so thankful to be alive. And so amazed at the out pouring of support and help from the community, friends, family and others from many other places around.

Please convey our thanks to all those concerned.

Steve Litzgow update:
10/17/07
Steve and Sherilyn are happy to report that Steve is learning to adapt to a new lifestyle. Steve was
diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury which left him with short term memory loss and divided attention problems and constant pain from headaches. These last two years he has spent in the reabilitation process. Speech therapy provided him with a palm pilot to help the memory problems. Occupationl therapy helped to adapt to the new ways of doing things and compensation needs. Physical therapy for the headaches and broken bones and dizziness brought some relief. But he still
contends with them daily. In the past six months he has improved his ability to adapt and compensate for the things he has lost. Although the road is still long ahead his attitude is a positive one and seeks to see the good that can come out of this.

Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers!

Steve and Sherilyn
